My Fit Project and Me

Welcome to my fit project...

I started this project as a motivational and tracking tool to assist me in remaining focused in leading a healthy, active lifestyle.  It can assist you with motivation, remaining focused and on track, embedding exercise into your daily activities and making it an essential part of your life.

I have discovered over the years that the most stabilising influence on my mental, emotional and physical well-being has been the consistent inclusion of regular exercise.  The most difficult factor that most people face is having and maintaining the self-discipline to adhere to a regular routine without ‘outside help’.

The one factor that continues to drive my self-discipline in leading an active life, has been the ‘clarity of mind’ and ‘feel-good after effect’ that I experience.  This addictive feeling is what drives me to continue through ‘difficult’ times.  It is actually through these times that my ‘drive’ is stronger, as I realise the benefits and change in mind-set that are gained from one session leads onto a positive and clear mindset for a period of time.  The added off-shoot of all of this activity is that you also look and feel younger, healthy and fit.

How often have you had the debate with yourself on whether to stay in bed or head out the door for that run, gym, walk, swim, etc?  No doubt you experienced a feeling of guilt or regret when you did not follow through with your intentions.  A refreshing thought for you, ‘When was the last time you regretted an exercise session that you completed?”  My bet is probably never.

Here on my fit project…, each month, I will set a new project. These projects are themed according to whatever inspiration I come across in my readings, daily activities, particular events, quotes or whatever idea pops into my head.  These ideas usually come at the most obscure moments and can never be predicted/planned.  Some of them are definitely light bulb moments.  Along the way, the projects will vary to ward off boredom and to assist you and me in remaining motivated. Each month, a series of short, high intensity bodyweight workouts that can be completed at home, will be provided.

There are no excuses for not leading an active life.  I have discovered that it does not matter where you might be at this particular point in your life, or where you are in the world, or what equipment is available, there is always an option for maintaining some sort of active lifestyle.  It is the thought approach that makes all the difference.  Excuses are easy to come by, actually convincing yourself to do something active, is the beginning of self-discipline which brings with it a wealth of fringe benefits.

I encourage you to join me with your own blog and personalised project adapted to suit your health, fitness, circumstances and environment.  If you would like to join my fit project…as a Fit Project member, read the Project Plans page for further information or go straight to How do I join?

I have my own project blog on here and participate in every project that is set each month.  I lead a very active lifestyle, so the activities I choose, and my time devoted to exercise may not suit you.  I always vary my sessions as I am continually searching for new sessions and exercises. I strongly believe in trialling any ‘finds’ first before suggesting to others.  My project is also focused around running, because I love to run.

As a my fit project…member, you get to choose activities you enjoy, that make you feel good, and are when and where you like.
